The Real Get Rich Quick

That fastest route of least resistance is down a path someone else has trodden

The route that someone else has smashed through all the hurdles, fallen down all the mines, taken all the wrong routes, got lost, stuck, started going backwards, sideways and all ways

And they’ve gone back through that entire journey, plotting the shortest route that misses all these diversions

Someone’s done that in your chosen niche or industry. Someone’s spent decades doing it, with all the battle scars they can show off to you to prove it

Only the naive, ignorant or arrogant think they can’t learn from a mentor. Or think they can’t afford one.

The stories of world business leaders below shows how they couldn’t afford not to have one:

Ever the radical, Freddie Laker helped shaped Virgin’s vision in the early days and was the first to bring Branson’s attention to how fiercely he would have to battle with BA to make a success of their airline.

‘You’ll never have the advertising power to outsell British Airways. You are going to have to get out there and use yourself. Make a fool of yourself. Otherwise you won’t survive’.

The rest is history but Richard Branson may never have gotten his airline off the ground if it weren’t for his mentor

Benjamin Graham’s book sparked Warren Buffet to be obsessed with stocks & to focus on ‘value over price’.

So what did Buffett learn from his mentor?

1: There’s no one-size-fits-all investment strategy.
2: Play the long game (Buffett has shares in companies e.g. Coca cola that he never intends to sell).
3: Don’t be put off by setbacks.
4: Don’t always follow the market. (Buffett made £10bn while rest of Wall St crashed)
5: Recognise the difference between price and value.

Steve Jobs instilled in Mark  Zuckerberg to move away from the day to day operations if facebook was to have any chance of great world success. Steve advised him on building a great management team which was later implemented to make facebook one of the biggest and the most used social media platforms on the planet today.

Ed Roberts took Bill Gates under his wing. During his time working for Roberts, Gates was inspired to create Microsoft after Roberts’ personal computer idea got his ‘juices flowing’.

Andre Agassi was playing very poorly after the breakup of his marriage & the difference in Agassi’s life both on and off the court was made by his mentor, Tony Robbins. With Tony’s help, Agassi set new standards for himself, and took his Tennis game to a whole new level.

James Caan has personally mentored us, and it was worth 50 times the investment we made and paid. A wealthy yet new investor (10 properties) paid a high 5 figure sum to fly Mark and I out to Grand Cayman for a 2 day Mentorship. He’s now a multi-millionaire.

All the best chefs you see on TV have served under a better one. Luis Suarez has credited Steven Gerrard as his mentor at Liverpool, and he’s scored way more goals than anyone else

You probably could become a ‘millionaire’ without mentors, mentorships, courses and networks, but it will take years longer on your own.

You don’t know what you don’t know, right?

So you have two choices: You can blaze the trail and discover every new mistake yourself, or be guided down the well trodden path; paying in time and fees, but paying much less in costs and mistakes
